Why David backs More United:
"I am proud to support the aims of More United and would be honoured to receive the support of their members. The values at the core of More United are the very same values that I have stood up for through my career in Parliament and they are the values that I will stand up for if re-elected at this General Election.
I was born and raised in Tottenham and it has been a great privilege to represent such an open, diverse and tolerant area in Parliament. If re-elected I will continue to champion opportunity, tolerance and openness and stand firm against hatred and division."
About David Lammy
David is a strong advocate for positive parenting and particularly the importance of fathers. He grew up on an estate in Tottenham and was awarded a choral scholarship to attend a state choral school, before going on to study law at Harvard.
A passionate advocate for equal rights and diversity, David was a crucial figure in the parliamentary push to include diversity in the current BBC charter. His campaign is focussed around pledges to stand up for growth and development in his constituency, investment in the NHS and to continue fighting against a ‘hard Brexit’.
