Ian Murray MP

MP for Edinburgh South

I want to live in a country that looks to the future, embraces opportunity and breaks down international barriers. That’s why I’m standing with More United.  They are an organisation that epitomises what my colleague, Jo Cox said, "we have much more in common than that which divides us', which is why More United is so important as a grassroots organisation.

As a Scottish MP, Ian is a passionate supporter of the union and campaigned to keep Scotland inside the UK during the independence referendum. He feels strongly that parliament needs to become more relatable to ordinary people and in this vein has voted to support electoral reform and make the House of Lords wholly elected.

Ian recently joined an anti-fascism protest organised in Edinburgh to counter a white pride march. He spoke passionately about the need to defend the core principles of equality, tolerance and mutual respect in the face of prejudice and division.

Ian has also been a critical voice in the campaign to keep the UK within the single market, tirelessly making the case for the economic benefits this brings.
