Justice for the Rohingya

Just over a year ago, a wave of violence in Myanmar forced over 700,000 Rohingya Muslims to flee their homes. An estimated 10,000 people were killed.

When Dr Rosena Allin-Khan MP visited the refugee camps this months, the women she spoke to asked her to bring one message back to the UK: "We just want peace - and justice."

These atrocities were committed beyond our borders, but we have a duty to use our country’s voice to condemn them.

With a recent UN report revealing details of the genocide, there are global calls for Myanmar to be referred to the International Criminal Court. The UK Government is yet to back those calls.

The UK government needs to hold the perpetrators of this genocide to account.
