Putting country before party

You might already have seen the headline of today's Daily Mail:

Our answer to that headline is yes. We are proud of them.

Last night Anna Soubry, one of the MPs we supported in the General Election, defied her party whip to stand up for what she believed in. She and 10 other Conservative MPs joined with those from other parties to support Amendment 7 to the EU Withdrawal Bill: a change which gives Parliament a meaningful vote on the final Brexit deal.

Thanks to their actions, this vote will now be written into law.

At 309 votes to 305, every single MP who supported this Amendment counted. Over the past few weeks, More United supporters in particular parts of the country have been reaching out to their Conservative MPs to encourage them to vote for this law. Yesterday all those efforts paid off.

There will be more close votes like this in future. It's More United's mission to make sure the MPs we back have the strength and courage they need to be bold and stand up to extreme views in our politics.

You can help us do that by donating to the movement now.
